Pendine Outdoor Education Centre

When you are located within one of the UK’s top tourist areas and just three hundred yards from the famous and award winning Pendine Sands, it is no surprise to learn that Pendine Outdoor Education Centre in Carmarthenshire has been a popular haven for over sixty years.

This unrivalled destination close to the Pembrokeshire border offers a range of outdoor pursuits and environmental education packages for both school and other organised groups. Ranging from five-day residential programmes to one-day schedules, the wide range of problem solving and team building exercises include climbing, archery, orienteering and canoeing, keeping a diary and weather reports as well as field work such as sea shore investigations.

A visit to Pendine also helps to broaden a child’s personal and social education as a residential course is often the first time they have been away from the family habitat. With this is mind, it is reassuring to know that all instructors have undertaken security screening, have the appropriate governing body training and are experienced in dealing and communicating with children.

On site facilities include secure sleeping quarters, football pitch, climbing and abseil tower, low ropes challenge course, camping area and classrooms. Within a few miles are a number of major theme parks and family attractions as well as the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Preseli Mountains.

Open twelve months of the year there are three options:

  • Undertake scheduled programmes including instruction
  • Hire facility and provide own instruction (subject to status)
  • Hire facility
